Why We Blog

February 20, 2007 – 4:35 pm

Jeff, from The Average Idea, tagged us, and so I’m going to give you five reasons why we blog here at SixFigureWriters.com. I was also tagged by Latoya of Writers Brew for my personal writing blog, so you can read about why I personally blog as well if you’d like to. But as for the group…

1. To Inform - We want to educate writers about freelance writing rates and where they can find freelance writing gigs and writers markets in their target rate ranges.

2. To Challenge - We’ve been slacking on this front lately, but soon enough I promise weekly writer challenges will be coming back. We want to do whatever little bit we can to help motivate ourselves and other freelance writers.

3. To Network - We want to get more involved with other writers, whether that’s by having cross-blog discussions and debates or simply asking questions on the blog to gain feedback from other writers.

4. To Promote - Obviously we’re promoting the Challenge, but this blog also gives us somewhere to promote our own content sites and blogs as well as our own writing.

5. To Make Money - Yep. We’re dirty, money-hungry bloggers. Actually, making money is probably the least of our concerns, but it’s a side benefit, and one that counts towards our writing income goals, so I think it’s worth mentioning. :)
I’m not in the mood to tag anyone (actually, no one’s coming to mind immediately), so if you’d like to tell everyone why you blog, just do it, and you can fib a little and say one of us tagged you. ;)
