Just in the last week I've scared away two clients by asking for a reasonable rate, and turned down two offers because I wasn't willing to write articles for $1.00. Think site owners would work for a dollar? Not! I believe though, that as long as there are people willing to write for less than a penny a word, there will be a market for their work. I believe though, that as long as there are people willing to write for less than a penny a word, there will be a market for their work. I’ll go back to working in an office before I become one of those people.

That kind of model is shortsighted any way you cut it. And frankly, if they want to build a business model based on essentially spamming the Web with useless duplicate content, then that's fine. But they deserve what they get when they get screwed over by writers that they barely want to pay to begin with. No sympathy whatsoever on this end. Many webmasters also have no business sense.
