July 27, 2007 – 1:24 amWell, so much for trusting in hosts to enforce a little bit of honesty and legality. The site stealing my ChickTech.net blog is back online again - ChicksTech.com. I’m not sure if they BS’d their original host or got a new one - will be looking more into that tomorrow.
At this point, I’m debating the best route to take. Frankly, I think it would be much more “fun” to make a public example of them and make their life a living hell, showing other bloggers and writers how they can do the same if they ever feel so inclined. Let’s just see how the host handles it (if at all) first.

You must be kidding?! Same domain? Did this person think you wouldn’t find out again? Wouldn’t have them taken down all overagain? Keep us updated! Good luck!

Yeah, it’s pretty infuriating! The worst part is that, after posting this here, I discovered that it’s with the same hosting provider (Gnax.net or something like that) based in Georgia (meaning they’re subject to the DMCA). I sent another notice letting them know I expect it dealt with immediately. If it’s not, I’ll very likely look into whether or not there’s anything I can do with the host. At least knowing I’m dealing with a US-based company helps a little bit. I’m also looking into tech means of blocking the thief from accessing the site.
