Top Five Guerrilla Marketing Weapons for Non-Fiction Writers

I’m rereading Guerrilla Marketing for Writers by Jay Conrad Levinson, Rick Frishman, and Michael Larsen (yet again… it’s one of my favorite books), and the ranking of the top 100 guerrilla marketing weapons for writers caught my attention (they have a list for non-fiction writers and one for fiction writers). Here are the top five weapons for non-fiction writers according to the authors:

1. You

2. Your Books

3. Your Identity

4. Your Knowledge of Publishing and Promotion

5. Your Professionalism

It felt nice seeing some of the things I always say repeated here… that your marketing and professionalism and expertise are just as important (if not moreso) than your basic writing ability.

So what do you think of the top five? Do you think there are more important marketing weapons or tools for non-fiction writers, and if so what? Or do you think this list pretty much hit the nail on the head?

Thanks for stopping by Rick. Because I’m such a fan of the book (by my side at this moment as a matter of fact, b/c I was using it yet again earlier today), I will absolutely add your blog to the blogroll. :)
