Never pay a dime to a company who “may” hire you. I don’t care if they’re otherwise a legitimate company. Don’t do it. No client has the right to ask you to pay them for information, processing, or anything else. They’re looking for service providers, and they’re the ones who should be handling all of the payouts involved.

Thanks a lot for the tip Jenn. It’s the first mag I’ve encountered which charge a fee, just wondering if that’s also something I should know. :)

Thanks for pointing that out Mariella! No, you shouldn’t be paying a processing fee to a potential client, and it reeks of a scam. I’m sorry I didn’t catch that previously. I’ve removed that particular listing from the list.

hey jenn! thanks for these. :) I was wondering about that DivaMark Magazine, seems like a great opportunity. But (I’m sorry if I’m to sound like a newbie — I am one anyways) is it normal for magazines to charge processing fees from prospective employees?
