Marketing Tip: Create a Marketing Calendar

Marketing Tips for WritersWhile a marketing calendar can be an important tool in book marketing, it can also help writers of all kinds promote their work more efficiently.

What is a Marketing Calendar?

A marketing calendar is a calendar (you can choose whether to make it monthly, weekly, or daily), where you lay out your planned marketing activities based on events throughout the year.

How to Create Your Marketing Calendar:

  1. Look for special days, weeks, or months (holidays, etc. – they’ll vary based on where you live and where your target market lives) that would somehow apply to your book or style of writing.
  2. Mark any that you feel you can take advantage of marketing-wise on your calendar.
  3. Plan marketing tactics leading up to those events to take advantage of their “timely” nature, and mark those on your marketing calendar as well.
  4. Review your marketing calendar regularly, and stick to it.
