Marketing Tips for WritersDon’t make the mistake of ignoring a marketing plan as a freelance writer. Some people look at a marketing plan as a waste of time, because they’d rather just jump into every marketing tactic they can think of. There are a few problems with that:

  1. They may not be differentiating themselves from the competition.
  2. They may not be using marketing tactics that exert any kind of influence over their target market.
  3. They may actually be targeting the wrong market for their own goals from the start.

Writing a marketing plan doesn’t have to be difficult. There are a lot of outlines, templates, and samples available. I even have a one page marketing plan template that you can feel free to use as an abbreviated tool if you really don’t want to invest a lot of time into something more formal.
