What are You Thankful For this Year?

By on November 14th, 2007

Thanksgiving is quickly creeping up on us here in the US, so I thought it was a good time to look back at 2007 and think about what we’re thankful for as freelance writers.

I’m thankful that I’ve had the patience and strength to keep growing this year in my writing and other work (especially with my own sites as opposed to client work), and thankful that I’ve met quite a few great folks along the way. Having others around who understand the complications associated with freelancing is a wonderful thing, and I’m extremely thankful that my network in that sense has grown tremendously this year. And sure… I’m thankful to be making enough moolah. ;)

What are you thankful for this year? Did you reach a milestone in your freelance writing career so far in 2007?  Did you publish your first book? Is it your first year making a living with writing? What are you feeling kind of warm and fuzzy about right now in your writing?

I am feeling warm and fuzzy about pretty much everything that’s going on right now! I am in my very first year as a freelance writer (will complete a year in January ’08) and it’s going much much better than I ever imagined. We will be starting construction on our dream house soon, and the moolah my writing brings home will definitely help! The best part? It promises to get better, thanks to killer advice from people like you! So while we won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving where I am located Jenn, there’s still a great deal to be grateful for.

I’m thankful I stumbled on your site. Thanks for posting job listings and thanks for writing inspirational blogs.

I’m an experienced journalist who’s new to the freelance game. I’m probably going about it the hard way — PLRs, bid sites, etc. but it’s the best an old lady can do without the technical knowledge to make and market Web sites.

I find little nuggets of encouragement and tips here. Thanks, again.

You’re right Rayaan… you don’t have to be celebrating the holiday to be thankful. It’s great to be able to appreciate the little things all year round, and no matter where you are. Congratulations on a great first year. :)

Thanks Cyndy. I’m glad that the blog is helping you out. It’s always refreshing to hear that. :)

I’m thankful I managed to move into my own place and that I have enough money to pay the rent (so far!)

I’m also grateful that I managed to befriend you in the sense that you have been an immense amount of support and encouragement. We always seem to think along the same lines and that’s totally awesome. :)

    Happy (Almost) Thanksgiving!
