With the new year fast-approaching, now is the perfect time to think about making your freelance writing business more “official.” Keeping better records will not only help you to work more productively, but it can help you protect your rights to your work and deal with difficult situations that may arise with clients. It’s always a good idea to get everything in writing, even if we don’t always actually do it.

These look great! Awesome idea, thanks for posting them. :)

Thanks for the forms. I subcontracted some writing work last month and couldn’t find a form to use. I ended up making my own, which made me uncomfortable (I don’t know enough about laws to protect myself). So this one really helps.

  4. I already have a system because I subcontract often, but I shall try this. Thanks Jenn!

I’ve been using my own forms (something I wiped out using examples off the internet) but always worry that the legal lexicon is not completely right. This makes me feel a little bit better in that aspect.
