New Business Content Writing Services

By on January 1st, 2008

If you’ve followed this blog for a while, you may know that I used to offer PLR business article packs at FirstRateContent.com. As of last night, those PLR articles were completely pulled from the market.

I didn’t want to waste the domain and sacrifice the rankings for the pages, so I wanted to launch a new site there using as much of the old URL structure as possible, and re-directing the rest. The domain name seemed perfect for content writing services, so I decided to launch them (they’re just a little bit cheaper than they used to be, but I’m definitely not catering to a “cheap article” crowd on the Web).

The site only took about a day and a half to put up (altering the template, writing all of the Web copy, etc.). Take a look at how I’m promoting my business Web content writing services. I think the only thing left is to add a testimonial. I believe all other kinks were worked out. I’ll likely do that after the holiday.

I actually got some ideas regarding our February challenge of building a Website (I think building a blog will be a separate monthly challenge – maybe March). This site was built using a free template. I went with one that didn’t have images I’d need to play with in Photoshop much to save time, and I actually came to like the simplicity of it. The template provider gives you the option of paying $7.50 to remove all of their branding, so I did that this morning to keep it cleaner and not have it scream “free template!” I like that option, and think it might work well for others wanting to set up a quick site, so I’ll probably use one of their free templates as an example next month on how to edit a template with basic html and css.

On top of my business content writing services at First Rate Content.com, I’m also offering free Web content. I started it off with three of my articles, and will probably try to add one more weekly or so to keep people coming back. Because they’re indexed on my sites first, I don’t get hurt in search engine rankings, and by including the credit links, I get some of the benefits of article marketing. I didn’t want to release too many for free though, because while the links will be nice, I don’t want to devalue my content in the long run. So we’ll see how that goes.

  1. Some of mine came in as Jess adn some as Jessica Anne — I know before I left I was up 50 comments, but I’ve been on vacation and haven’t allowed myself on the computer much, and Diana said she was going on vacation so I didn’t think there would be anyone to talk to anyway.

Hopefully I won because I refuse to pay full price for Writer’s Market and I end up taking 20 hours or more a month finding markets.
