Changes on Two Sites – Feedback Please

By on January 7th, 2008

As I’ve mentioned here on more than one occasion, my primary focus for 2008 is on my own publishing efforts (my sites, blogs, and e-books for the most part).

Two of my largest sites are going to be going through some changes, and I was hoping to get some feedback from some of the other bloggers here:

AudioXposure – This is my oldest site. It hasn’t been updated in over a year. It’s being entirely overhauled, moved to WordPress, and re-launched (hopefully soon) with a lot of new features. The new design is up in the meantime. What do you think so far? I tried to keep it simple, have it be a bit more magazine-like instead of simply a blog. The blue and green will definitely be the main colors on the site, but what do you think of the shades? Is the blue too light?

BizHow2This site houses my old content from About.com and AIA, as well as quite a bit of unique content. My issue right now is that I’m not sure what direction to go when I change the theme. I’m considering removing and condensing some categories, and doing this site in a traditional blog format. I’ve also been considering using a theme such as Brian Gardner’s Revolution News theme (more like a news site, broken down by category). The busier look of this current theme hasn’t led to a lot of people going to my actual content from the homepage, and there’s very little personalization and interaction (including subscribers), which is why I’m thinking a blog may be better. Any thoughts on whether you think a more general blog is the way to go, versus another zine-style site?

Thanks!
