Bum Marketing Update – Moving Forward

By on January 8th, 2008

I just wanted to post a quick update on the bum marketing attempt I’m starting through EzineArticles:

My first article was approved pretty quickly. I was going to post more, but wanted to make a change to my resource box on the first one first (that puts it back in editorial hold for review). I decided to wait for it to get published again.

This time, it did take longer to get reviewed, and it was rejected. I found that kind of baffling, because the same article, with the same resource box link, was just approved a few days before. I contacted them, asking if maybe I misunderstood their rules (to see if you couldn’t actually “redirect” a top-level domain name to an affiliate page, but maybe instead had to have content on that page with a separate link to the affiliate page).

I received a response finally, apologizing for the misunderstanding and saying they put it back in the editorial queue. I just got the notice that it was again approved (without me changing the link). So I have to assume the linking I did was fine, right? I guess we’ll see.

Anyway, now that that’s cleared up a little bit, I’m going to post another article or two today, and try to post somewhat regularly. We’ll see how it goes on the affiliate marketing front. :)

Thanks for the update…I will be interested to see how all this plays out…and if you think it is worth it in the end.

It’s really slow going so far… I published my second article 2-3 days ago, and I’m still waiting to see if it’s approved or whether they give me more grief about the link style. I don’t want to keep publishing if they’re not going to be approved anyway, you know? So it’s the waiting game through these first ten I suppose.
