Bum Marketing Update - Moving Forward
January 8, 2008 – 2:44 pmI just wanted to post a quick update on the bum marketing attempt I’m starting through EzineArticles:
My first article was approved pretty quickly. I was going to post more, but wanted to make a change to my resource box on the first one first (that puts it back in editorial hold for review). I decided to wait for it to get published again.
This time, it did take longer to get reviewed, and it was rejected. I found that kind of baffling, because the same article, with the same resource box link, was just approved a few days before. I contacted them, asking if maybe I misunderstood their rules (to see if you couldn’t actually “redirect” a top-level domain name to an affiliate page, but maybe instead had to have content on that page with a separate link to the affiliate page).
I received a response finally, apologizing for the misunderstanding and saying they put it back in the editorial queue. I just got the notice that it was again approved (without me changing the link). So I have to assume the linking I did was fine, right? I guess we’ll see.
Anyway, now that that’s cleared up a little bit, I’m going to post another article or two today, and try to post somewhat regularly. We’ll see how it goes on the affiliate marketing front.

Thanks for the update…I will be interested to see how all this plays out…and if you think it is worth it in the end.

It’s really slow going so far… I published my second article 2-3 days ago, and I’m still waiting to see if it’s approved or whether they give me more grief about the link style. I don’t want to keep publishing if they’re not going to be approved anyway, you know? So it’s the waiting game through these first ten I suppose.
