Closing Writing Forums?

By on March 5th, 2008

I’m weeding out some projects to make room for more basic Web / blog publishing (like getting rid of a directory, possibly my webzine, etc.). I’m thinking about getting rid of the writing forums attached to the blog here. I honestly don’t think most people even know it’s there, there’s not much going on over there these days, and I just don’t have time to build it up.

Would anyone object if I closed it?

Here’s another option:  I’m willing to give the files and database to anyone wanting to take it over. You’ll have to move everything to your own host of course, and they should be able to help you get things set up. I even have the forum’s old domain – AllFreelancing.com – available, which I’ll give you for free if you agree to keep the forum going elsewhere. That would give you a headstart in people being able to find it, and some backlinks should already exist (although it’s been redirected to the new subdomain until just yesterday or so, so most links may be gone by now).  If someone’s interested, please let me know.
