Stupid Email Pitch to Send a Freelance Writer

Today I got a funny one – someone was pitching resume writing services.

OK. Why the HELL would you assume a freelance writer (one who’s going out of their way to help other freelance writers earn by freelance writing rather than full-time employment no less) has any interest in having you write them a new resume? Apparently, they can write me a resume that will make me “much more attractive to potential employers.”

Oooooh. If I were looking for employers, I might give a furry little rat’s ass.

But I’m not.

And if they’d taken a whopping 30 seconds to look over the bio on every page of this blog, they’d see I’m a business writer myself – why would they assume someone with that background would need their services?

Bad targeting ladies. (Oh, and bad form email.) Grrrrrr!

Marketing lesson for today: This is not how you drum up new writing business.
