Since we’re going into both the weekend and the holidays, I want to do something a bit different. In the spirit of giving, I want to give you a chance to promote your sites, e-books, blogs, etc. to your heart’s content.
I want you to let your fellow writers know what you’ve been up to all year.
Show off a bit. Feel free to brag about an amazing gig you landed. Plug your book or e-book, or link to your blog and tell us what kinds of things we might find there. Heck, link us directly to one of your favorite posts there.
Let’s kick off the New Year by reflecting on what we did well this year. Leave a comment and let us know what you’re most proud of from 2008.
For me? – I’m pretty proud to have finished two rather thorough novel outlines and my Web Writer’s Guide e-book. It’s nice looking back feeling like you’ve accomplished something. :)

A free plug? Wow! Thanks, Jennifer! I’ll bite.
This year I started writing for my own blog in earnest. Since February I’ve built it up from a dozen friends and family subscribers to over 70 today. I’ve also refocused the content to center around travel, photography and technology. With some family items thrown in.
I’ve really enjoyed refining my writing style since the ‘early days’ and am most proud of posts like Do What You Love…And Share It With Your Child, Why Travel So Far, When Do You Retire When You Are Doing What You Love? as well as travel dispatches from Peru and Nepal.
And if you’re looking for daily photography inspiration, I host a Photo of the Day feed via RSS/ATOM or email. Come on over, check out all the fun and subscribe to join in the next adventure!
I’ll bite…
I’ve been writing my own irreverent parenting blog Three Peas in a Pod (three-peas-in-a-pod.blogspot.com) for two and a half years, and I’m proud that I’ve managed to keep that up. This year, I also launched a second blog Jennifer Larson, Writer at Large (jenniferlarsonwrites.wordpress.com) to write more about writing in general, journalism, current events and other random musings. I’m trying to make that more of a professional venture, given that I list a number of my writing clips from my past on it, too. And I also joined a blogging team that produces a blog called Go Get Your Jacket (gogetyourjacket.com) that we subtitled “a blog about begetting and spending.” In other words, GGYJ allows us to discuss what we buy for our children and why we buy it, as well as our thoughts on products aimed at children and parents in general.
So that makes three blogs I’m writing for. I’ve got a solid base of clips from previous freelance jobs and from my full-time writing jobs in the past, but as the economy started to shudder to a halt, I found myself casting about for more work. I’m hoping that things start to turn around. So I hope to land some more (paying) freelance work in 2009, and I hope that perhaps at least one of my blogs will help me do that.
I just posted The Freelance National Anthem, a video I created for the 60th Anniversary of the American Society of Journalists and Authors:

ASJA members are almost all freelancers, and they enjoyed it, so I think it’d be fun for your readers.
Feel free to pass the word if you like – link, embed whatever you prefer.
Thanks,
Bill Dyszel
