Hey Jennifer,
Firstly, I'm really enjoying the latest batch of posts you put up here...not sure if they're the ones you've transferred over from webwritersguide.com or not. At any rate, great job!

Secondly, I actually haven't written up any goals for 2009, but since I'm really working hard on getting my freelancing career started, I guess I should write up some! Stay tuned for a blog post about that later on.

I've actually been using a Twitter hash tag to keep me going with my daily goals (#dailygoals), and that's been helping me out quite a bit. Guess I have to start thinking a little "bigger". :-)

Great job on the 4 month achievement! :)

The great thing about goal-setting is that you can adapt them to changing circumstances. So even if you don't officially change your business plan, you can still set an informal goal or two for yourself - never hurts to have something to strive for. :) At the very least it sounds like it was a learning experience that will make the next business plan update and goals a bit more challenging. :)

Apparently, the 2009 goals I wrote in my business plan back in December were LAME because I've already exceeded 90% of them without even executing any of the goals in my marketing plan. So now, I have no time to do the marketing I had planned to do and have no goals for the rest of the year other than taking a couple of writing courses and finishing my e-book. I may do a mid-year business plan redo or I may just let this year run its course and adjust accordingly next year. Looks like I'll be a full time freelancer in about four months- no small achievement for a sole wage earner with a mortgage :)

Just thought I'd add:

One of my other goals was go increase my RSS subscribers to 1000 (for the main feed's regular / non-email subscribers) by the end of '09. I started the year closer to 500. Today I noticed for the first time it's hit 700! :) It tends to fluctuate wildly day-to-day, so I expect it will dip below again before it steadies above that mark, but still, I haven't been watching it too closely so it's nice to see real progress. :)
