I promised the next free member download would be a Web template, and here it is.

This isn’t a design of my own (the one I was going to release first was scrapped–perhaps I’ll rework it in the future for release here). I purchased full rights to this as a unique template from a designer a little while back, with a plan to use it on one of my own sites. But when that site’s re-done, I’d like to keep it on Wordpress, so I no longer have a use for the design.

Terms

Please remember that all free Web templates and Wordpress themes from All Freelance Writing are released under the following terms: You’re free to use it on your own sites (and you do not have to include a credit link or anything like that), but you may NOT distribute this template to others in any way. You cannot forward the files to someone via email. You cannot post the files for download on your own site. You cannot link directly to the download file on this site. If someone else wants it, they must visit this page and download it directly from AllFreelanceWriting.com. Also, derivative works made from the template may not be released (in other words, you can’t change the design and then distribute it to others – it’s for use on your own sites only).

Notes

1. The designer didn’t code a functioning contact form. It didn’t matter to me, since I intended to put something else in that block anyway. To get a functioning form, I’d suggest using a third party contact form script (you set it up through them and they’ll give you the code to add into the template) if you don’t know how to code a contact form manually.
2. Remember that I do not offer technical support for the downloads. If you have simple questions, please post them as a comment on this post (do not email me about them), and if I can help I will. This way when I can’t help, maybe another member can.

To Download

1. Click the download link below.
2. Save the file to your hard drive.
3. Unzip / decompress the file (in Windows, right-click the file name and go to “extract all.”
4. That will save it to a decompressed folder.

Once you have the folder decompressed, you can open the .psd file in Photoshop or a compatible program (like GIMP). You can open and edit the Web template files in your favorite Web editor. If you don’t have Web editing software, and you don’t know enough html to make changes solely in Notepad, you may want to try Serif’s WebPlus SE (it’s free).
