If I were a freelance anything I would start off with outsourcing sites too, like VOIS, and I would make sure I start a Blog. It's true, you have to be really involved in the tech community if you want to get recognized. Freelancers can also go on Facebook and join local groups. Collaboration is one step closer to success!
