Jennifer, I got my start in trade magazines. I have freelanced for 8 years — the PR gig is relatively new and I still do trade writing. Law enforcement of course. And as a PR consultant I am working to help some clients “brand” themselves as experts/thought leaders, which means, of course, helping them with magazine articles and even book ideas.

I am really excited about this series. I noticed that you had Evan Marshall there. Every writing book I buy about the business and/or craft of fiction writing has a quote from him. He’s been in various Writer’s Markets. I tend to perk up when I hear his name. Thanks for having him and other greats. You have a fantastic line-up.

I think that Christa M. Miller would be interesting as an interview subject. She does PR content and social media consulting for public safety and law enforcement. She’s a great, dedicated writer. She’s definitely worth paying attention to: check out http://cops2point0.com/.

I absolutely adore Evan Marshall. He’s one of my two go-to folks when I need to find expert sources on writing fiction. Not only is he a talented and accomplished writer, but he’s a very nice and helpful guy on top of it (and I’ve loved his Marshall Plan for years). I couldn’t be more thrilled to have him stop by to share some thoughts for those wanting to pursue fiction. :)

I don’t specifically want consulting covered in the series, and I’m not sure about PR writing (or if that’s something I’ll cover myself given my background down the road). But if I do need someone in that area later on, I’ll be sure to keep Christa in mind. :)
