I know I don’t aggressively push our writer’s markets directory much, but I wanted to bring it to your attention today. That’s because we’ve been adding several new listings every week for the past few weeks (and we’ll continue to do so moving forward with a minimum of five new writer’s markets added weekly).
If you haven’t checked out the writer’s markets yet, now would be a great time to take your first look. And if you haven’t stopped by in a while, you might just find something new. (And it’s completely free!)
How to Use Our Writer’s Market Directory
The directory here should be pretty easy to use. You just need to:
- Click the “Markets” link near the top of our site;
- Browse the full set of market listings on that page.
Easy peasy, right? But what if you don’t want to look through all of the markets? That’s fine too. We give you two options to help you narrow down your search:
- You can use the search box to look for something specific. You’ll get a custom list of markets if we have something related.
- You can choose a writer’s market category from the drop down list below the search bar. This gives you more general groupings (like Home & Family markets) whereas the search bar would let you target something more specific (like searching for “Parenting”).
We don’t currently let publications add their own information to our writer’s market directory. And we only include markets that have published their own writer’s guidelines online (so you can always get their most updated information easily). But if you have a favorite market that you’d like us to add and they do have their guidelines online, please feel free to contact me with the information and I’ll consider adding them in the following week’s group.
Check back early each week. I usually have the week’s new writer’s markets added no later than Tuesday.
