Potential E-book Download Problems

By on February 7th, 2011

Just a heads up. Two customers had problems downloading my Web Writer’s Guide e-book over the weekend. Normally download problems are simple user errors (like clicking “open” instead of “save” so the .zip is never saved so they can extract the files). But to have two people claim there were download link problems so close together, I’m concerned it might be a problem on the delivery service’s end.

I’ve emailed E-junkie to see if they had any widespread problems over the weekend, and if so whether or not they’ve been fixed. I wasn’t personally able to replicate the issue however — the link I tested worked fine for me. So you may not have problems. But if you attempt to buy one of my e-books in coming days and you run into download problems, please email me at jenn@allfreelancewriting.com. I’ll manually deliver the material via email, and I’ll forward any similar problems to E-junkie so we can make sure everything’s sorted out.

Sorry to those who were affected by this weekend’s download issues.

Jennifer, I’ve also had customers with the occasional download problem from e-junkie and for the e-book I only sell through Paypal. It may be normal that 2-5% make a simple mistake in the process. Like you, I just e-mail them a copy.

The two cases could be a testament to a high level of sales. Here’s hoping!

    • Usually it’s a user error issue when I hear about them, so I just send them another link and it’s ok. So it was weird this time. I did hear back from E-junkie they confirmed there were no delivery issues on their end. I was able to access the specific download links buyers were sent, and they worked just fine for me. E-junkie said in that case it would be an isp or connection issue on the user’s end. So weird that it would happen twice like that, but I suppose it’s plausible.

And sales have definitely been up which is nice. But I still get very few over the weekends. So it was weird enough to get weekend sales nonetheless have issues with them both.
