OfflineHi there,
My name is Shadab, a freelance writer from a place called Bangladesh. Non native speaker but that doesn't seem to stop me from writing. Freelance writing for the web and for small businesses is admittedly not so "romantic" as writing your own novel. But it pays the bills and I enjoy helping other people with their content.
Does everyone feel the same way?
Since I am introducing myself, my site is RnGWriter.com should you want to check it out. it is pretty new but I can't wait to get started.
And I think Jennifer Mattern is an awesome blogger
And I meant the post to read "Is the forum open to college students?"
I need to work on my proofreading skills.

OfflineWelcome to the forum Shadab.
And of course we welcome college students here.
Freelancing might not always be romantic, but it can still be a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy what you write about. I mostly do. But I also work on books and websites / blogs that let me explore passions in ways client work doesn't. I just remind myself that the freelance work helps to make the other writing possible. Fiction is being worked into my business plan. And I know at least one other member here (elafont) is far ahead of me on that front. So maybe she'll have some tips on finding a balance between the two.

OfflineHi Shadab! Welcome aboard.
I'm a college student too —and I'm Italian!— and as you can see… nobody kicked me out yet.
So that's fine, hehe.
As Jennifer said, freelance writing can be fun in all its forms: you're writing, you're learning, you're enjoying intellectual conversations with both clients and fellow writers. Some clients and some writers may also become your friends over time. Anything better?
There will be always room for novels, short stories and other more creative forms of writing. Actually, if you're having a good day (like I do today) you could even draft a short story or novel chapter while you're having a break from business writing. Just to relax, you know.

Is here still anybody alive?
The case is that I'm also a student and write for different sites which provide me with constant orders. I receive a substantial income from this activity and get useful knowledge, indeed. I'd like to share my experience with somebody and discuss some topical issues considering different styles for different universities.

Hello Barbara.
What sites do you write for? I'm SocialSpark and Constant Content writer among the things. And also a student.
I'd love to hear more about your experience!
