OfflineHi folks. My name is Meko. I worked for a number of years as a writer/editor (10 yrs) then left the office so I could freelance and stay at home with my newborn. While I've managed to keep one finger in the freelance till, I'm looking to jump back in with both feet now that my daughter is five.
I'm looking for suggestions. Getting back into the swing of things seems so overwhelming, with so many options. I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice.

Hi Meko! Welcome to the forum.
I've never gone through a re-entry after leaving the work, so I hope someone else has more relevant advice for you. All I can say is try to leverage what you already have. You mention that you stayed in freelancing. So possibly you could reach out to those part-time clients and see if they're interested in expanding contracts. If nothing else, let them know you have greater availability and they might be willing to refer you to their own colleagues.

Yes, being a freelance writer is extremelly cozy. Especially for 'green moms'.
A friend of mine had serious problems with coming back to the labour market because of absence of the expierence for 3 and a half years during her maternity leave. And in your case it is possible to write freelance experience. Moreover, money can never be odd.=)
