Information for Writers
Most high paying freelance writing jobs are never publicly advertised. Clients frequently search for qualified writers independently. They find writers through referrals. Or they receive direct queries. Help those clients find you with a listing in our professional freelance writer directory.*
If you're looking for advertised gigs in the meantime, consider browsing my freelance writing job board, where I post ads direct-from-clients as well as curate ads from other sources (the vast majority featuring pay information so there's no guessing before you take the time to apply).

Hello, let me introduce myself. I’m Anna Nuttall, a 31 years old freelance writer/blogger & social media coordinator from London.
I’m an insatiable writer who is dedicated to the pursuit of the perfect word. I’ve got an appetite for a variety of topics and the ability to write any 500+ word feature. I have graduated with a BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism and I also completed a diploma of Fashion Media & Communication at the London College of Fashion.
For a number of years I have written on a freelance basis, updating various blogs and social pages on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. This involves writing about a wide range of subjects from laser hair removal, fashion and beauty to plumbing, gas safety and solar panels! I have a firm understanding of SEO, keywords, social media and CMS.
My freelance experience has given me the knowledge, skills and firm foundations to progress further along a wide range of career paths within the online publishing industry. I have gained knowledge of software such as Adobe’s Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign and Dreamweaver; as well as Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
My background experiences include me writing a daily blog for Idlewild London, a weekly high street blog for findmethesales.com and SEO keywords blog for Littlewoods and K&Co. I have also worked as an intern for an online magazine ‘The Clothes Maiden’ where I wrote a weekly blog post, contacted people for quotes and attended press days.
I was employed by a Croydon based plumbing & heating company and a London-based dentist as a social media coordinator to update their social network pages and to increase their online presence .Throughout my employments I have been able to engage with the target demographic and develop a strong brand identity across various social media platforms and to spot marketing opportunities that have helped to create a wider awareness of the company. In addition to successfully increasing brand awareness, I have been able to orchestrate a campaign which has helped to pull in sales and increase traffic to their business website.
The role of an online blogger/writer requires someone who has strong experience with online media, I have been personally blogging for 15 years and I can use many blogging tools such as WordPress and Blogger, I also understand the importance of social media such as Facebook and Twitter and how they can be used to get your messages across to people and to interact with them directly.
I have in the past taken various work experience placements such as spending a week at the Dailymail Femail office, where I dealt with various administrative work such as dealing with PR and the press office, assisting on fashion shoots and sorting out clothes that needed to be sent back. I have also spent a month working for a fashion & beauty PR company Boudoir where I would greet clients, deal with various publications for samples to be sent via a courier, and tidy up the showroom.
