Profile Summary


I have taught Microsoft Office, starting from 2003 to the 2010 version. I am more experienced in Word, but have good knowledge of Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

The main purpose of the program i am involved in, is to help people come back into the workplace, to gain new skills. Our program is geared to help individuals with low self esteem, showing them the means to change that negative attitude into a positive one.

I have made a photographic study of the tropical flora of the Treasure Coast of Florida, and have had two showings of my work at the Backus Art Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida. My images can be seen at: http://bdzarrella.zenfolio.com/. I use Photoshop CS3 and Corel Painter when working with my images.

While I am still teaching, I am ready to go in a new direction, entering the world of freelance writing where I hope to share the knowledge and experience I have gained during my years of teaching.

• Helped start the Health Unit Coordinator program within the Office Skills Department
• I am a part of a team of teachers who teach students Microsoft Office and basic computer skills,
in the Office Administration Department in an open-ended classroom environment. Skills and
mind-thought that are covered and emphasized to students beyond regular class lessons are:
- The importance of accuracy, prioritizing, attention to details and grammar.
- Attitude, self-esteem, communication with others and how to present oneself in the workplace
are presented to students.
- The importance of completion of projects, setting priorities and creating schedules as this is a
self-paced classroom where students may come at any time and they are all on different
levels.
