Profile Summary

I have over a decade of professional writing experience in a wide range of subjects. I’ve written software training manuals, branded editorial and video content for CollegeHumor, and blog posts for Skillshare. I’m an efficient writer who thrives with deadlines and collaborative projects. My interests are varied, but I specialize in the arts: film, television, music, fine art and crafts, as well as nerd culture, literature, and language acquisition. I am also extremely passionate about food salvage, homeless outreach, local political policy, and I have professional experience working in those fields.

In my free time, I enjoy writing screenplays, playing D&D, spending time with my ridiculously cute dog, and cultivating my custom crochet side business.

Experience / Education / Qualifications

I was the Senior Writer of Branded Content at CH Media. I was responsible for pitching and writing sketch videos for brands that would appear on the CollegeHumor YouTube channel which has over fourteen million subscribers. I worked closely with marketing and ad agency teams, incorporating notes from multiple sources to make sure we were delivering a final product that not only was brand safe and got their messaging across, but also fit the tone of the CollegeHumor page. I was involved with all aspects of production: from casting, art direction, post production workflow, on-set script coordination, voice over and video directing. I did all of this while managing the expectations of our clients, helping to deliver a video with which all parties were happy. I worked with brands such as Netflix, Amazon, Trojan Condoms, Mortal Kombat, Comcast, Universal Pictures, NHTSA, White Castle, Orbit Gum, Mentos and many more.

In addition to this, I was also a contributing writer to the CollegeHumor Originals team. This included pitching sketch ideas in a weekly writers room, writing scripts and incorporating feedback, pre-production meetings with directors, producers, and editors, on-set monitoring of the script and script changes, and giving notes on final edits. I was also part of several development meetings for CH Media’s SVOD service Dropout, and was one of three writers for an un-produced, long form horror comedy video series. I also have on-screen experience, acting in several videos for both the YouTube page and Dropout service.

Currently, I am a freelance writer for Society Content Studio and a frequent collaborator to Skillshare’s blog. I write about a variety of topics including filmmaking, history, music, art, crochet, and cosplay. I am an efficient writer who delivers high-quality work in a timely manner. I work well with my editor, take notes seriously, and can adapt my writing style to fit the voice of any client. All my writing utilizes SEO optimization, so I am comfortable writing with that in mind.
