Profile Summary

I am a lover of music and of travel. Writing anything and everything related to these topics is my strongest suit, and my aim is to synthesize the two into a unique musical adventure niche.

Experience / Education / Qualifications

I have written for numerous publications, including The Upcoming, Guestlist and We Plug Good Music. For these, I have largely written arts and cultures pieces, but more recently (for Guestlist) I have expanded into environmental, film, health and wellbeing articles.

I have a strong academic background, and studied music at Newcastle University (one of the UK's Russell Group: sort of similar to America's Ivy League), specifically its history, philosophy and politics. I have also taken courses in sociology, anthropology, philosophy and politics. My interests are extremely wide-ranging, and I am always looking to write informative but entertaining pieces that use what I have learnt academically and in other reading.

I gained the highest possible II.i (69%) for my degree, and for my dissertation (on music, spirituality and evolution), I received one of the highest marks in the year (74%). Having achieved a distinction with the Institute of Linguists, I am a semi-fluent French speaker, and I have completed my ABRSM grade 8 in piano, trombone and singing.
