Job Description
ConsumerAffairs is seeking a freelance assigning editor for automotive content. The editor will manage a team of freelance writers and edit their content, largely related to car warranties.
Responsibilities include recruiting writers, creating onboarding documentation and videos, writing article outlines, issuing assignments, editing articles, managing a consistent publishing schedule, and making sure content is optimized for search.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience editing or managing content in the automotive industry
- Strong editing and writing skills
- Familiarity with AP style
- Familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive
- Automotive knowledge (auto warranty knowledge preferred)
- Experience managing freelance writers
- Understanding of SEO best practices
