I write technical documents about embedded processors, software and other areas of electronics. This includes articles, white papers, user guides and web content. Individual articles or blog posts are normally charged at a per-word rate. Longer projects can be done on a daily or hourly rate.
Experience / Education / Qualifications
Technical writer with over 30 years experience as a software and hardware engineer in the semiconductor industry, developing embedded processors and the software for them. This has included working for a number of startups and some of the leading companies in the industry.
I have written datasheets, application notes, white papers, marketing collateral and product specifications for a range of audiences from engineers, managers and end users. I have been responsible for the creation of documents in a variety of print and online formats using Framemaker, Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Visio, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, LaTeX, Docbook, and many other tools.
My practical engineering experience gives me a good insight into the technology and what it is that readers need to know.
