Guide Magazine is a "Christian story magazine for young people." Target readers are between the ages of 10 and 14. Payment is $.07 - $.10 per word for stories and $25 - $35 for puzzles.

Hendon Media Group

Hendon Media Group owns LAW and ORDER, Police Fleet Manager, and Tactical Response. Please review each publication's editorial calendar linked from the writer's guidelines page. Pay for freelance submissions is $.15 per word ($.25 per word for regular contributors). Submissions should be 1800-2400 words.

Herizons

Herizons is a Canadian feminist magazine. They pay $125 for 350-word book reviews, $250 for 600-word guest columns, $175 for a film or art review of around 500 words, and a flat fee of $600 for 1500-2000 word features. Pay is in CAD.

High Country News

High Country News is a nonprofit news magazine covering the Western U.S. They pay $.50 - 1.00 per word. They accept in-depth news and analyses, features, short-form reported stories, and essays about life in the West.

Hinduism Today

Hinduism Today is an international quarterly magazine for English-speaking Hindus, those interested in Hinduism, and the scholastic and interfaith community. Topics range from current events and human interest stories to philosophical insights and opinion pieces. All articles revolve around the spiritual, humanistic, and cultural elements of Hinduism. Payment is $.10 per word and $20-100 per photo published.

Horse Community Journals

Horse Community Journals accepts freelance submissions for both print and online editions, including blogs. Topics they accept content on include training and horsemanship, horse health and care, stable management, and other related topics. Payments are negotiated on an individual basis.

Horse Illustrated

Horse Illustrated accepts submissions of 500-1200 words on topics such as horse training, horse health, trail riding, rider fitness, and more.

HowlRound

HowlRound accepts submissions to its journal from "contributors who are deeply invested in and committed to the theatre field." They accept pieces on theatre commoning, ideas that challenge the status quo, lesser-known or marginalized aesthetics, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility for under-represented theatre communities and practices, and theatre practice and process. They pay honorariums of $200 per single-authored essay and $400 for multi-authored essays and interview pieces.

Hudson Valley Parent

Hudson Valley Parent is a parenting magazine for residents of New York's Hudson Valley. Articles should have a local focus (such as local camps, area schools, and local activities). The magazine pays $80 for 700-800 word articles, $90-120 for features of 1200 words or more, and $25-35 for reprint rights.
