Freedom With Writing

Freedom With Writing is a site focused on helping writes get paid for their writing. They pay $50-150 for these guest contributions.

Freelance Mom

Freelance Mom is an online publication for professional mothers (though they accept submissions from dads too). The community looks for actionable advice and tips including a 20-30 minute action plan at the end. Articles run 900-1500 words and pay $75-100 each.

Ft. Myers Magazine

This bi-monthly magazine features content on local and national arts and lifestyle topics such as books, music, video, theater, health, wellness, sports, travel, food, and home. Pay is approximately $.10 per word.

Funny Times

Funny Times publishes humorous cartoons and stories. They pay $60 for funny stories of 500 - 700 words.

Geez

Geez "is a discussion among people of spirit seeking social justice and dismantling of empire." This includes the creative critique of those in power, and the societal structures that keep them in that position such as colonialism, racism, patriarchy, wealth concentration, and police brutality. They accept pitches from writers, including poetry. Calls for pitches are posted prior to each issue, and they pay a modest honorarium to contributors.

Goblin Fruit

Goblin Fruit is a poetry market looking for poems "of the fantastical." They pay $15.00 for original poems and $5.00 for solicited reprints.

Good Old Boat

Good Old Boat is a magazine specializing in cruising sailboats from the 1950s through 2000s. Primary topics of interest are "upgrades, maintenance, refits, and restoration of good old boats." Payment varies from $50 - 700 depending on the length and type of submission

Gray's Sporting Journal

Gray's Sporting Journal accepts freelance submissions on sporting topics such as shooting / hunting and angling / fishing. They publish seven times per year, with four themed issues covering fly fishing, upland bird hunting, big game hunting, and their "Expeditions and Guides Annual." They're open to a wide range of word counts, but prefer shorter to too long (12,000 is okay if necessary, but 3000 is preferable, and 1500 words preferable even to that). In addition to articles and yarns (750-1500 word campfire tales -- can be factual or fiction), they also accept poetry up to 1000 words. They pay $600-1250 for features, $600 average for yarns, and $100 for poems.

Great Escape Publishing

"Great Escape Publishing publishes articles on the craft or business of getting paid to travel, whether by writing, photography, tours, or other means." They accept articles from successful travel writers, photographers, etc., but not straight travel pieces in The Right Way to Travel. They pay $50-75 for articles on their website, $100-150 for interviews or personal stories, and $150-200 for articles offering income-generating advice.

Green Prints

GreenPrints focuses on the human side of gardening rather than how-tos. They accept stories with a personal slant. Pieces range to no more than 2000 words. Pay is $100-150 per story, paid on acceptance.
